The last few weeks of data collecting on my first six months has been very insightful. I have a general sense of needing to delve deeper. To get more specific.
Until today I was internally focused on searching in my mind for what that might actually be for me personally. The thing about this journey is that it is absolutely an individual one. You cannot just pick a guru, do everything they did and expect to have the same result. You can't even follow your spouse or friend's guidance and expect the same result as them!
You have to plot your own course and make it happen for yourself and your personality.
Truthfully, you can't even really give advice to another trader because that trader won't see that advice from the same perspective. That's the thing we are all fighting hardest in all this...our own perspective.
Today I had an "ah-ha" moment when I realized I needed a few things and I was able to get them all written down--
1.) I need a visual representation of my ultimate goals for myself in trading. The profit chart on here is nice, but it isn't enough to get me motivated. I need something that touches me personally. Honestly, that's not going to be a dollar amount. This journey is about something entirely different for me.
2.) I need to plot out specific milestones for myself in the efforts to achieve those goals. Such as, time frames for completing specific work and what that work entails.
3.) I need to collect data from my trades that will allow me to answer a wide range of questions and potentially identify my greatest weaknesses. This means I am going back through all of them again and adding more information to what I already have. (Which is daunting because it took so long last time, but important.)
4.) I need to create more watchlists for different categories of stocks I'm paying attention to-different play potentials.
5.) I needed to create a more comprehensive checklist of things to look into before entering a trade and post it on my wall. (Which I did today.)
6.) I need to create a more specific schedule for my working hours. I have to become more organized to accomplish my motherly duties, house tasks, exercise regimen, and such with enough time to attend the first and last two hours of the trading day with additional study hours. This means pushing pretty hard.
7.) I need to explore my trading platform so that I can personally do everything I need and want to easily. (My husband has helped me, I want to get more independent.)
8.) I need to continue to re-watch videos and read my books.
I feel like it is starting to really gel now. I have a clearer path forming in my mind. I will keep this updated with my progress.
~Never Give Up~
@kobayashimaru I looked her up. Thanks!
yep 3 months later, I need to get back into studies....
@combatbob Studying is always a great place to go back to. Being in the market cannot be replaced by study. What you learn there is priceless and necessary. But, when you return to study after being there you'll learn something new even from the thing you already studied! It's wonderful.
@combatbob I am rewatching Trading Tickers after having watched it twice before and I am understanding SO much more. It's so great!
