I scalped OGEN for a small profit today. I am very upset at myself for missing DXR which had a beautiful b/o with low risk. I need to do better at looking at all big % gainers regardless of volume etc in the morning. However;
Earnings season is upon us! I have been watching ZIXI and TRVG to see if I can spot a pattern as they both moved EXCATLY the same.
AMKR; DRYS; IPI; PES; ARAY; are all stocks that did well today on earnings. I have created a spreadsheet on all of these earnings winners too see if I can catch a pattern on these. They are all not to a T but very similar; For these above they all spiked at the open/premarket; dipped; consolidated then ripped up towards the close either at news highs or near the morning highs. ZIXI and TRVG both spiked pre market then finished red on their first day. So its tough to see how to play these above 5 on day 2. ZIXI and TRVG had strong green days on day 2.
DRYS I wont play because of its history but I want to watch it.
I looked at the SEC filings for all of these companies and they are all shit. Hence why most of them are trading at their all time lows which still seems to be the trend right now. All of these companies have shady stuff going on and many offerings and shares can be exercised at any time so have to be very careful and I wouldn't hold overnight especially with the markets being so choppy lately. HOWEVER am I all about momentum and clear trends and earnings winners and stocks at their all time lows are in right now so I will ride the wave with taking quick profits and wont force anything.
Another trend I have noticed lately is a lot of spikes from the recent biggest % gainers, their biggest moves are in pre market and I am not only referring to these earnings winners. Tomorrow I will be up @ 6 to see if their will be any pre market spikers from earnings or other big news. Its all about catching trends.
Playing the pre market or market open spike on these earnings winners may offer the best return but its super risky. Most likely I will let the stocks open; dip; consolidate then afternoon ramp.
